How to download

    Copy the link to the video you want to download.

Download a YouTube video or Short

Open the video on YouTube, choose Share and copy the link. Paste it above, select MP4 or MP3, then click Get download. Use Save file when it is ready.

Which YouTube links work?

Use a youtube.com/watch link, a youtu.be share link or a YouTube Shorts link. Playlists, channel pages and live streams are not supported.

Quality and audio

Choose 480p, 720p, 1080p or Best available. Dropclip selects the closest available resolution; the original upload determines what is available. MP3 extracts the audio track and does not increase its original quality.

If YouTube refuses a download

Private, age-restricted or sign-in-only videos may be unavailable. YouTube can also block requests from hosting providers. Try a public video you have permission to save; changing the quality will not bypass access restrictions.

Download limits

Dropclip is free to use. Files are limited to 500 MB and videos to one hour. Files are temporary, so save them when ready. Only download content you own or are entitled to save. Read the permitted use guidelines.
